Project Activities

The analysis, design, development and experimental implementation processes of the ESG-AG module, together with the openly accessible outputs produced within the project.

Work Packages

24-month activity plan

  1. WP 1 · months 1–3

    Analysis

Literature review, preparation of data collection instruments, collection of teacher and OHS specialist views for target-group analysis, a feasibility study of schools’ technological facilities, and review of comparable AR applications.

  2. WP 2 · months 4–7

    Design

Drafting of the ESG activities, AR applications, mobile AR application, AR markers and teacher handbook; refinement of the drafts through the views of experts in Primary Education, OHS and Educational Technologies.

  3. WP 3 · months 6–16

    Development, pilot implementation and improvement

Development of the activities, 2D/3D models, animations and simulations, the mobile application and the handbook; two rounds of pilot implementation, interim evaluation with the Think-Aloud Protocol, and finalisation of the module.

  4. WP 4 · months 16–24

    Experimental implementation and evaluation

Validity and reliability studies of the instruments, teacher training, administration of pre-tests, the six-week experimental implementation, post-tests, and preparation of the final report through data analysis.

Implementation

How is the module delivered?

At least 6 activities

Each activity covers two lesson hours per week, is structured around the five stages of the REACT strategy and contains context-based tasks related to the school environment.

Tablets and markers

AR applications run on tablets. Markers are handed out to students or placed in the relevant context in the school (electrical panel, schoolyard, canteen, etc.).

Individual and group work

Depending on the flow of the activity, some tasks are individual while others are carried out as station and group work; game-based tasks are used in the cooperating stage.

Teacher training. Classroom teachers who will carry out the experimental implementation receive teacher training in two sessions of 45 minutes each before the implementation. The training aims to inform teachers about ESG, introduce the ESG-AG module and provide practice in using the Teacher Handbook and the AR markers effectively.
